I'm trying to use Access to compile a database to aid in scheduling for my
work. We have trainees that go through a series af about 80 events and
classes. The problem is that the most of the events are done in pairs or
one-on-one with instructors. Each event has prerequisites and no group of
trainees goes through at exactly the same time and rate.
The first spiral of this is that I would like to be able to input trainees,
(which events are complete and the date.) and instructors (who is qualified
to teach each event)
The output is that I would like to be able to output which event each
student is up for and which instructor can teach it.
Later on, I would like to add the feature of using the database to actually
write a daily schedule, but creating lists of eligible events is my first
hurdle.
I am comfortable digging around Access, but most of my knowledge is self
tought, so I don't think it goes too deep and nothing I design is too elegant.
