I'm new to using MS Project so forgive any blatant ignorance...
I work at an engineering company where we do a lot of computer analysis.
I've been tasked with creating a schedule that will determine when we will
have computer down-time. The resources that will constrain the schedule are
licenses for our analysis software.
Each analysis we perform has 3 parts; pre-solver, solver and
post-processing. Each of those parts will run for a designated amount of
time and requires the use of the appropriate license. We have two of each
type of license available, (I could run 2 solvers simultaneously for example).
How on Earth do I set the license in question as a resource and say that it
can only be used in 2 tasks simultaneously and that the remaining tasks will
be have to be pushed out accordingly?
Many thanks to anyone with advice!
