Setup Error - Configuration Failed

Ebenezer

I'm having a really tough time trying to get Project Server installed. After
installing all of the necessary components and completing the Project Server
install, the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard is
failing for me.

I get the following error:
Failed to create the configuration database
An exception of type System.Security.Principal.IdentityNotMappedException
was thrown. Additional exception information: Some or all identity
references could not be translated.

Some background: I'm installing Project Server and SQL Server 2005 on
separate machines in the same domain. The login that I'm using is a local
admin on both machines and has dbcreator, public, and securityadmin
permissions in SQL.

The databases get created (I have to delete them every time I try to re-run
the wizard) but something is failing somewhere along the line.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ebenezer,

The System.Security.Principal.IdentityNotMappedException error indicates
that the user id does not have permission. I would give the user ID "GOD"
like mode (Full Permissions) in SQL and Windows for the install and see if
you still get the same results.
