Shading does not save

T

Tim

I am trying to add shading to columns in a table. It
appears to work well. But, when I save the document, the
shading changes to either white or 25% gray (when
originally set to any light colour or a lesser percentage
of gray).
I need a lighter shade of gray because 25% turns out too
dark when photocopying the table.

If this is Word 2000 or 2002, are you perhaps using a shading percentage
that is not available in earlier versions *and* saving in an earlier file
format? If you're doing the latter, you might want to enable the feature
(Save tab of Tools | Options) to "Disable features not available
in/introduced after <whatever version you're saving to>."
