Sharepoint "Cannot obtain WSS item tp_ID" error

When I add a new issue to the WSS Issues list, the following error
messages comes up "Cannot obtain WSS item tp_ID" . The issue does get
added, so there's no data loss or rework. Can anyone help me in
finding out why I am getting this error. Thanks.
