slide transition do i set first slide on timer or mouse click

When presenting a power point slide. Is it common to put first on timer or on
advance click when i am to begin my presetation

Bob,

Do YOU want to control when powerpoint progresses from slide to slide
(screen to screen), or does the presentation not need any control?

Do you talk to and use the slides as a guide? (then manual control is best)

Do the slides tell their own story without any talking from you (then
automatic is probably best)
