slider bars gone missing

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

When I upgraded to 2008 the right hand "slider" bar (allowing you to scroll rapidly through a multi-page document) and the bottom slider bar (allowing you to scroll left and right if your window is narrower than your document) has disappeared in Print layout from existing and new documents.

Any idea how I can make them show up again?

Hi Kimbi -

The first thing to check is Word> Preferences> View to be certain there is a
check in the boxes for Horizontal & Vertical Scroll Bars. If that doesn't
rectify it let us know.
