Snap to grid drawing tool in Word

Hi

I'm a new mac user and can't find the snap to grid (or unsnap to grid) drawing tool in Word. I've designed a poster and need to move the text boxes by a fraction, but I can't move them to exactly where I want because they keep snapping to grid, or what seems like snapping.

On a PC it's so easy - just a setting in the drawing toolbox.... but its not one of the displayed options in the mac Drawing Toolbox.

HELP!

Thanks,
Swann

Hi Swann:

It's on the Drawing toolbar. Show the Drawing toolbar and you will find a
button named Grid Options.

See the Help topic Align objects for more.

Cheers

In addition to John's reply, try using the Arrow keys to nudge the selected
object Up, Down, Left, Right - just make sure that those containing text
don't have an insertion point within at the time. Click the edge of the
object in order to have the "selection handles" displayed. Otherwise you
just move the insertion point (cursor) within the content. For more minute
increments hold the Option key while arrow-ing.

Why didn't *I* mention "Nudge"?? :)

I usually find that nudge with the cursor keys is a lot more useful than the
grid :)

Because even *you* can't think of *everything* *all* the time?... Nah!

More likely that your benevolent nature forces you to leave a few morsels
for us mere mortals to contribute :)

I want everyone to know that I did NOT pay him to say that.

That's the other thing he's complaining about... :)
