After setting up a new Dell laptop with Windows XP Professional, Power Point

will not play the sound files which are imbeded in presentations. When I
click on the sound icon I get the error message "Windows Media Player
encountered a problem while playing the file." The sound file plays without
problems when it is played from within Media Player. I can also insert the
sound file in a blank presentation and it will play without any problems. The
sound files are in the same folder with the presentations. These same
presentations play sound files perfectly on other computers but not the Dell
lpatop. I am using Windows media player version 11 on all of my computers.
