Spelling & Grammar Check -- Marked Text Skip

L

Larry Coles

Okay - I've checked Help -- I've check online Assistance -- I've checked the
Knowledge Base -- and I've read the posts in Office Community. I've done
everything that was suggested and yet the problem persists.

Whenever I do a spelling and grammar check on some document -- I receive the
notification that "The spelling and grammar check is complete. Text marked
'Do not check spelling or grammar' was skipped."

I don't have any marked text in my document. I've turned off the grammar
check -- and turned it on. I've gone to 'Tools' - 'Language' - set the
language and default as suggested. I've even removed the footers. Yet I
still receive that notice after doing a spell check.

What gives? My original document completed the spelling and grammar check
properly -- even giving me the readability statistics. Yet my new document
does not do that. Has anyone tried something different and had it work for
them? I would greatly appreciate any advice you would be willing to share.

Thank you.

Just to be sure... the "Do not check spelling or grammar" setting is a
character level setting, and applies only to text that is selected. So, you
need to make sure everything is selected (Ctrl+A) in order for it to apply
to everything.

You might also try Tools - Options - View and make sure that this isn't a
hidden text issue.
