Hello-

When publishing a project plan to project server 2003, I am getting project
server spooler error - system error 0x80004005. After I get the error and
try and open the project plan from project professional I receive the
following message - The enterprise global already contains a filter name
"Enterprise Resources". However, when I got to Organizer it does not show
this field inthe filter tab.

Any help, would be apprecaite.

Thank you,

As Mark suggests this probably will not fix your issue.
Is this something that just started?
What Service Pack is installed on:
Server?
Workstation?

I'm getting this error too. And I am definitely a newbie.

K, I'm interested in how you published your plan. One of the posts
instructed us to first import the project using Tools, Enterprise Options,
Import project to Enterprise. This is followed by publishing through the
Collaborate, Publish option.

I want to make sure this is the correct procedure. If not followed, could
this cause the error to come up? I just made changes in my project and, to
save a backup without the new changes, simply added a date to the project
name, saved the file, and then republished. When I went to publish it, it
gave me the same error. I had decided to go back to the old file, make the
changes, and then republish that and see if I get the same error.

Can you help?

Last week we got the first spooler error, we applied SP2 to Project
Professional 2003 and it went away. We also made the permission change last
week as well. For the other service packs, I have SP2 on my workstation
which is running XP. On the project Server it is SP1 running Windows 2003.

Thanks!

MaryB -

Yes, this is also how we are publishing. I believe it is correct as I am
following the Microsoft Project Manager book.

I had a user report the same spooler error code. Perhaps the code is a
generic/catchall error code. Anyway, I found this his Project Pro
software on his desktop was sorely out of date. I had him update the
software and his spooler error was resolved. The next time he contacted
me, with another spooler error I found that he had entered values in
the resource field for various tasks which were not valid defined
enterprise resources. I had him remove these values from the tasks and
the problem cleared.
