Striping connectors for wiring schematics

I have spent hours trying to get color stripes on the easy drag connectors.
Can custom stipr colors be made and how? I also tried to overlay one color
connector on another but could not get them to function as one.

Thanks!

Hi Jim,

You can create custom line and fill patterns with Visio. That would be the
best way to get your colored stripes.

I've got an article posted on my blog that includes a custom line pattern
file that you can download, plus there's links to other articles and
tutorials at the end of the post.

Have a look here:

Hi Chris!

Thanks! I tried all the links as I found them hours after I made the post.

I was not seeing the second line I made because of line weight. I have
corrected that problem so I can now see the stipre at line weight 1 (.24 pt)
in the drawing.

I can create a stripe in the line and change the line color in the drawing.
However, I CANNOT change the stripe color in the drawing. Can the stripe
color be changed in the drawing or do I have to create a custom for each
stripe color?

I see it will be another long day trying to make that work. :(

Custom Line Patterns

Recently I lost my hard drive and it's contents and reinstalled all the
software. I did have my stencils saved on a CD, but all of the Custom Line
Patterns in the Shapes on the Stencils reverted to solid colors (no stripes).

1. Can the Custom Line Patterns be saved out of the program and off the
computer?

2. Can the Custom Line Patterns be saved permanently on the Stencil so they
are not reverted back to a solid color when used on another computer that did
not have the Custom Line Patterns?

Thanks!

Jim
