switch rows

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I have a series of rows.
I want to move row 16 to the position of row 14 and put row 14 at 16. Switch positions.

The only way I know to do that is to cut row 16, insert row above 14, paste 16 there, and etc etc etc. Isn't there a way just to drag 'em. I've tried holding the option key and moving the row, but I just get blank rows.

Don't use the Option key (or any other). Select the row, then put your
pointer on the edge of any cell in the selected row. When the pointer looks
like a hand drag the row to the new position.

Thanks, but then I get the question, "do you want to replace the contents of the selected cells?" I don't. I want to insert it in the position of the row, making the row (previously at 14) to move down to 15.

One way:

Hold the CTRL-key down while dragging. Release the mouse button. Choose
Shift Down and Move from the pop-up menu.

Sorry, I didn't realize there was content in the destination row. In that
case, hold the Control key while you drag -- just make sure to click & hold
while the pointer looks like a hand rather than a cross [otherwise you'll
get the contextual menu]. When you release select the obvious choice fro the
menu that pops up.
