synchronization

Office 97 Groove

Please forgive the newbie questions.

Is it possible for a user who is not the Synchronizer for the workspace to
upload new folders/files ( or other objects ) to the server ?

I'm must not be understanding synchronization, because it makes no sense to
me that synchronization would have a single person dependency ...

Hi John,

Since Groove was not a part of Office 97, I am not understanding your
question, can you clarify? Are you referring to the SharePoint tool in
Office Groove 2007?

Yes, SharePoint Files tool.

Apparently, all added files, deleted files, and modified files are
automatically propagated to other subscribers.

However, I don't see how to edit a SharePoint file short of deleting it and
re-adding a modified local copy. Groove lets me open it but as far as I can
tell this just creates a copy.

Hi John,

If you have set up a SharePoint files tool in Office Groove2007 to sync with
a SharePoint document Library, then you should be able to download all of the
files, edit those files and sync those edits back to SharePoint. What is the
exact behavior you are seeing when you open a document, edit it and save it
back to thw Groove sharePoint tool?
