Tables and text boxes created on Mac turnsinto pictures when opened on PC

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I created a PPT file on Mac (Office 2008 on OS 10.6), containing tables and text boxes. When the file is opened on Windows XP, not all but some of the tables and text boxes were converted into pictures, and obviously no longer editable.

Does anyone know why this happens, and know any solutions, or workarounds?

Thanks in advance!

After posting this question, I found out that the issue was caused by the strikethrough I had on some of the text.

To recap, text boxes and tables containing styles/effects (e.g. strikethrough, reflection) that aren't compatible with the PC version get converted to pictures.

Yep, but it's not a PC vs Mac issue; it's new format (Mac 2008, PC
2007, 2010) vs old format (any previous versions, either platform).

Note, though, that while these elements get converted to pictures when
you back-save the file to the older format or when the new format file
is opened in an older system with the converter pack

... pauses for deep breath ...

the new formatting is retained in the file. If you open it again in
2007/2008/2010, it'll still be there.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification, Steve!

You found that CLEAR???

I could barely follow it after I'd written it. <g>

But kidding aside, glad it helped.
