Task Must Start on a Saturday

I have a software development plan in front of me, and our deployment
activity must occur on a Saturday. I've already learned how to force Project
to start the task on Saturday using a "dummy resource" named "Saturday" and
adjusting that resource's working time to only be Saturday. Here's my
problem, however:

The deployment activities themselves (about 30 tasks) are performed by a
series of resources who don't normally work on Saturday. How do I tell
Project to let them work ONLY the Saturday of the deployment? If I open them
up to have Saturday as a working day, they work EVERY Saturday. If I only
open them up on the deployment Saturday, and do so manually, I eliminate the
scheduling power of Project.

Ideas? Thanks in advance!!

Hello ShawnMc,

Instead of creating a dummy resource you need to create and assign a
specific calendar to the tasks. First create an additional base
calendar through Tools > Change Working time, New. Set all
Saturdays as working days and Monday through Friday as non-working
days. Select the deployment activities, and then click the Task
Information button on the Standard toolbar. Assign the base
calendar to the tasks on the Advanced tab and select (check) the
option "Scheduling ignores resource calendars". On those tasks, any
resource assigned will be scheduled to work based upon the task
calendar.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
