Task 'my email-sending' reported error 0x800C8105; error unknown

It seems that I can send and receive emails, but the Outlook Send/Receive
Progess window displays numerous attempts at what, I don't know??? and this
error message above. Every so often there's another message that reads:
"The operation could not be completed because you are working offline or
because of an error on the network. Try to connect to the network and repeat
the operation". This is a stand alone PC at my home and no network involved.
I am connected to the Internet via cable modem. At the top of the Progress
window "2 of 415 (and increasing) tasks have completed successfully". Anybody
have a clue? Thanks in advance. In addition, Outlook is reponding very
slowly.

The "network" referred to here could be the Internet. So you are actually on
a network. You might have a large message stuck in the Outbox, unless you are
really sending 415+ messages or have a virus. Try using File, Work Offline
and delete anything in your Outbox. You should do a complete scan for viruses
and run your Antispyware software--AdAware, Spybot, etc.
