Task recurrence duplicates

I am using Outlook with Exchange and I have created a shared task folder for
another employee and myself. I have set the tasks to recurrence, and wanted
them to reset on the same day everyweek. Everytime we check mark the task, a
duplicate of that task is created without a check mark next to it. So when
everything is checked there is always two copies of that task, 1 that is
check marked and one that is not. this only happens when i add the recurrence
option. Is there any work around for this, is anyone else having the same
problem?
