task structure

If I had a task structure like this :
+ Project A
Project A
+ Task 1
Sub task 1.1
Sub task 1.2
+ Task 2
Sub task 2.1
Sub task 2.2
Sub task 2.2.1
Sub task 2.2.2
+ Task 3
Sub task 3.1
Sub task 3.2

I'm using visual report with Task Usage template. If I want to display Sub
task 2.2.1, Sub task 2.2.2, I must select the check box in front of the check
box Sub task 2.2.1 and Sub task 2.2.2
Can we select all the sub task (sub task level) without select the check box
one by one.

Thx

Well, now I sure can't figure out what version you are using. This question
implies that you are using Project Server 2007. Is this the case? Or are
you using Project Server 2003, and using Project 2007 for some desktop
projects only? Regardless, here's how to do what you want:

1. Open a project and then click Report - Visual Reports.
2. In the Visual Reports - Create Report dialog, click the New Template
button.
3. In the Visual Reports - New Template dialog, select the Excel option and
the Task Usage option, and then click the OK button.

The system creates a blank PivotTable in Excel.

4. In the PivotTable Field List sidepane on the right, drag the fields you
want to display into the four display areas at the bottom of the sidepane.

For example, you drag the Tasks field to the Row Labels drop area, the Work
field to the Values drop area, and the Time field to the Row Labels drop
area. When the system creates the PivotTable, by default it collapses ALL
of the tasks, and shows only the collapsed Project Summary Task. When you
float your mouse pointer over the collapsed Project Summary Task, the system
displays a long tooltip list that shows all of the fields selected in the
original field list associated with the template.

5. Move your mouse pointer to the left to get it out of that long tooltip
list and then ight-click directly on the Project Summary Task.

The system displays a shortcut menu with many items on the menu.

6. In the shortcut menu, click Expand/Collapse - Expand to "Tasks 03".

The system will expand the subtasks automatically to the sublevel you want.
If you need to expand it any further, select a value like Expand to "Tasks
04" or whatever in the Expand/Collapse item on the shortcut menu. Again,
remember to tell us what version of either Microsoft Project or Project
Server that you are using. Hope this helps.

Refer to step #5 below. You have to right-click on the Project Summary Task
in the PivotTable to get the shortcut menu. Hope this helps.
