Tentatively accepting meetings

Hi,

I have two issues: the first is that meeting appts are showing as being
tentatively accepted by me but I've never accepted them. The second issue is
that meeting appts are showing as conflicting with other appts but when you
look at the calendar, there are no conflicting meetings. Has anyone had
either of these issues and if so, is there a fix?

Thanks!

Tentatively accept is the default behavior.

I'm not sure if you understood what I meant. The first time I am viewing an
appt sent to me it is already showing that I tentatively accepted it. I
understand that it shows in the calendar as tentative until an update is made
but getting the appt already tentatively accepted doesn't sound right plus it
does not happen with every meeting request I get.

I don't know what you mean by "showing tentatively accepted". There is no
such status that I can see. A meeting is tentative until you accept it. If
you click the "Tentative" button, your organizer will receive a response
from you that you have tentatively accepted the meeting request but the
appearance in the calendar won't change and neither will the status.

When I receive meeting requests for myself it shows at the top of the screen
"Please respond." When I receive meeting requests for other individuals it
shows at the top "Please respond on behalf of xxx xxxxx." What I am saying
is that sometimes when I first receive the meeting request, having never
opened it or responded to it in any fashion, instead of showing please repond
it shows tentatively accepted by me. I hope that makes sense and my
apologies for not being clearer earlier.

I've never seen that (but maybe I've never really paid attention). My
meeting requests all have "Accept", "Tentative" "Propose New Time",
"Decline" across the top. Where do you see this? Can you put a screen shot
on one of the many free image posting web sites (like Picassa) and then post
the URL to that shot so we can look?

I also see what you mentioned in addition to what I am talking about. I will
get a screen shot and get back to you with the link. I'm not in the office
today; will take care of it on Mon. Thanks again for all your help!

Sorry for the long delay. I hope you can read it. I circled the
part at the top of the screenshot that I am talking about

Thanks again for taking a look!

So, let me repeat so I think I have it straight. You receive a brand new
meeting request and before clicking Accept, Tentative, or Decline, while it
is still in your Inbox, if you open it, the Infobar shows "Tentatively
accepted on XXXX" and Tools>Options>Calendar Options>Resource Settings
doesn't have an automatic settings selected. Is this all correct?

I wish I had a good answer for you. I can't reproduce it. The only time
the Infobar says "Tentatively accepted" for me is when I click the
"Tentative" button on the meeting request.

Yes, that is correct. (I actually didn't know about the setting in Calendar
options that you mentioned but I just took a look and there isn't anything
checked to automatically accept appts) I guess I will just have to live with
this annoyance. Thanks again for your time!
