Please help!
Having recently changed computers and web hosts at around the same
time, I'm now not able to send email from Outlook with my new setup. In
fact, mail will send, but at a rate of about 1mail every 20mins.
I continually receive this message:
"the smtp server name your specified cannot be found" - clicking ok
just sees the message reappear, whilst clicking cancel sees a new
message:
"The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by your mail server.
If this problem persists, contact your LAN administrator or Internet
Provider."
I have seen simialar complaints posted by people on this and other
forums but have never made sense of the answers given, and it seems
that each case is different enough to not be relevent to me.
Webmail from my Domain Control Panel works fine, and I can send email
from my old computer with the new mailserver settings, so clearly it's
a problem with the set up on my new computer. My outgoing and incoming
mailsevers ARE entered correctly despite these messages, and I'm pretty
sure I've set up Zone Labs firewall correctly. I'm running Outlook 2000
on Windows XP if that helps at all.
Please Please help!! Not having my emails run properly is causing me
all kinds of mayhem!!
