The Untimate Steal Promotion

As a student, I purchased the Ultimate Steal Office Suite downlaod and the
backup disc for the download. I recently purchased a new computer and Office
2007 is already installed. But my Product Key for the Ultimate Steal is not
accepted by this installation. Should I uninstall the factory installation
of Office 2007 and install my disk of the Ultimate 2007 version? Or is
something different with the "downloaded" version?

If a trial version is installed you need to uninstall that & reboot prior to
installing your paid for version.
If however its a full version pre installed you need to use the key provided
by your PC supplier

If Office 2007 came preinstalled as a trial version then it would need an
OEM product key. You have a retail product key and they aren't the same. The
same is true if you downloaded a trial edition that's not the same as the
edition you purchased with the Ultimate Steal -- each edition uses different
keys.

You'll need to uninstall the trial edition and then install your purchased
product.

I think I'll need to check the EULA of the Ultimate Steal for Students
regarding the number of computers I can install it on. I believe it stated I
could install it on up to three computers. It is installed on my laptop
already and I'd like to keep it there. I am just concerned about differences
between the Ultimate Steal download from MS and the "backup disc for your
preinstalled OR DOWNLOADED software" that was offered and I purchased as part
of the download. I made my own backup disc from the download that I saved on
the desktop (before I installed it on my laptop) but I wanted the actual
software from MS.

I guess I just needed assurance that this disc from MS would install the
whole Ultimate Steal version of Office 2007 after I uninstalled the factory
trial version on my new desktop computer.

Thanks for all your information
