time change when syncing to Pocket PC

amir77a

I am working with Outlook 2003, and PocketPC device.

Suddenly all my PPC calendar appointments are 1 hour ahead of wher
they should be (e.g.) if my desktop outlook shows 15:00, Pocket outloo
shows 16:00.

I checked and unchecked all relevant option (e.g. Time sync in AS
Internet sync in the desktop).

The time zone is equal on the desktop PC and the Pocket PC

Any suggestion will be welcomed

Dear amir77aPosted,

you have 2 settings for the "Winter/Summertime" setting on your PC (this is
the 1 hour different)

One settings i under "Control Panel/Date and time => Timezone". Please check
here the setting for "Winter/Summertime" (maybe outsite of Europe this flag
have another description).

The other setting is in your Outlook under "Tools/Options/Calendar
Options/Timezone".
Please check also the setting (flag) here.

Both Timezone settings must be identically.

Hi,

That issue generally happens when you are connected to an Exchange sever,
and not a PocketPC, if you are connected to an Exchange server ask your
Exchange Engineers to look at the following article if they are using
Exchange 2000

Meetings are unexpectedly moved one hour ahead in Exchange 2000 Server:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;888606

Or if they are using Exchange 2003, upgrade to SP1

Anther thing to try if you are not connecting to an Exchange server, it to
upgrade to Office 2003 SP1, and then to do the Office updates as well.

Hope this helps

I had no option for Summer time in the time Zone.

It's not a problem, but a result of a desicion. In my country th
summer time date is changing every year due to political reason (it's
shame to even mention it). Microsoft decided to disable Summer time.

The Time Zone option in outlook is identical to the relevant option i
the control panel

Dear Amir,

Maybe the description for the "flag" in the timezone is "daylight-saving
time".

In most of the european countries you have "Winter and Summertime" outsite
of Europe the flag is descripted as "daylight-saving time", but I think in
all Outlook versions you have this additional flag in the "timezones"
settings.

One of this flags (in your palm or in your Outlook) is different.

You normally have this flag "daylight-saving time" in Outlook under
"Tools/Options/Calendar Options/Timezones" and also in your Control Panel
under "date and time/timezones", both settings must be identically.

Also you settings in your Palm must have the same settings.

You should have and option for automatically using Daylight saving time
(summer time).

There is no "Daylight saving time" option.

In most countries in the world, the changes occur, at fix dates ever
year. In my country, the "Daylight saving time" dates are changin
every year due to internal (stupid) political matters.

Since that Microsoft decided to disable the "Daylight saving time" i
my language.

The time zone is identical both in The Desktop control panel, I
outlook relevant option (which I am awae of) and the regional setting
in the Pocket PC device
