Timesheet Import with Activity Tasks does not work.

I have a newly installed OPS2007 SP1 where a few selected resources can't
import the timesheet into the My Tasks sheet. The Timesheet selection works
but when they push the "Import" button It always returns to the Timesheet
import page. They can only exit the page by hitting back or Cancel. On
Resource reports that this import worked on the first attempt and every
subsequent attempt has failed. I have witnessed a large number of other
resources successfully import multiple timesheets in a row.

I thought it could be a corrupt Activity plan or selected tasks so i
replaced the whole Activity plan, instructed the resource to recall all
approved timesheets and then delete them. I published the replacement
Activity plan and deleted the original Activity plan. The resource
succesfully created a new timesheet and entered time. Entered the My tasks
sheet and tried to import the approved timesheet. It failed.

My next idea is to delete all timesheets between certain dates and start the
process over.

I need ideas on how to fix this, please help!

you can try 2 things:

1. for the user with import problems: try deleting timesheet lines where
there are no hours booked. So you will keep only lines with actuals on it.
Try importing again.

2. when option 1 fails, try deleting the projects where he/she has reported
the time on ONLY FROM PUBLISHED database. Then delete the timesheet wich is
causing the problem and recreate it afterwards. I think importing to tasks
will be working again. NOTE: before deleting a project from published
database, the project owner should process all tasks updates so you don't
lose any progress information.

hope this helps you out.

Step 1 worked.
I really appreciate the help!

Now I need to know if I delete the suspect projects, what process do I
follow to ensure I don't leave any stranded timesheets or task sheet out
there causing different problems.

Thank again

process:

for the list of suspect projects:
1. find the project owner and check if he/she is the only status manager of
the project.
2. Let the project owner (status managers) accept or reject all the task
updates for these projects.
3. Delete the projects from the published database.

From now, the project owner can publish the projects again and there should
be no problems with importing timesheets anymore.
