Timesheets in Project Web Access

Good day,
We are using Project Server 2007.
Users capture their timesheets and then import timesheet data into their
tasks.
We get some inconsistent problems with this:
1. Timesheets will not create for some periods, while creating for other
periods for the same user.
(error message: the timesheet creation failed, because of problems with
the project server of with data validations, such as users not being valid
work resources of users.)
I've tried creating a blank timesheet (successfully) but can still not add
lines.

2. Timesheets create and save successfully, but will not import. Also
inconsistent, for the same user some will import and some not.

Thanking you in advance.

Thank you Gary,

We have not done the Infrastructure Update yet, will schedule as soon as
possible and give you feedback.

Just to be 100% sure if I do the request, are there versions for the Inf
Update that I need to specify? What is the latest, recommended updates?

Thanks once again.

There's also an October cumulative update that released recently. You can go
with that one instead of the August update. The only version differences for
updates is between 32 and 64 bit versions, and that only applies sometimes.

Gary - We are experiencing the same error - albeit for only one user (so
far). The user cannot import their tasks into their timesheet.

We are currently at version 12.0.0.6219. We have not applied either the
October or December 2008 CU, we have applied the August 2008 CU.

One suggestion that I have seen is to back the completed tasks finish dates
to a time prior to the time sheet creation date.

Your thoughts?

Any advice / direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Ivor

One of our users (he sits right beside me) tried to import his "My Task" data
into his timesheet for last week. The server came back with an error that
indicated the following:

(error message: the timesheet creation failed, because of problems with the
project server of with data validations, such as users not being valid work
resources of users.)

I've found this issue explained @
