Trouble sending mail from outlookexpress?

I am trying to send several emails from my oe application and have received the same error msg with no success:

"The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Subject: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES', Account: 'Tom's OutlookExpress Acct', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 Authentication Required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78"? I currently have vers 6.00.2900.2180. No account on this machine has been setup w/"Authentication Required" set!? My ISP currently uses outgoing.verizon.net for SMTP. How can I resolve this problem?

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.

Outlook Express was blocked with Socket Error 11001 - Error Nr
Ox800CCCoD - The trouble came from the Automatic MS Update 911567 - I
delete that Update in "Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/REMOVE
Program > Windows 2000 HOTFIX KB 911567" and everything returned to
normal.

Thanks Milly for your quick response. Another post to this message made a
suggestion about the removal of "security Update for Windows XP(KB911567). I
have to do some research on this because it appears that other updates are
directly/indirectly tied to this one. I will look foe a valid Outlook
Express newsgroup.

Thanks again...Tom Johnson

Thanks for the quick response. When I went to uninstall this fix thru
Add/Remove application, it tells me that it will affect other fixes already
applied to my system, so I need to do some research regarding the other
updates before I am comfortable with this fixes removal. Thanks in advance .

I am unable to send email from Outlook Express. My error message is similar.
It reads "This message could not be sent because one of the recipients was
rejected by the serve." Then it gives the 'sent' email address, subject,
account, server and protocol. The message ends with "Domain Sender address (I
will now show) does not exist; port 25, secure (SSL): No, server error:553
error number:0x800ccc79." I am the domain sender and my messages can be
sent, received and viewed from the server thru my ISP web interface. The
problem with Outlook Express started shortly after renewing my security
service with McAfee. I have communicated with McAfee, my ISP and Dell
support. Each referrs me back to the other. I need to get rid of the error
message.
