Turn off style pane hover description

Word 2007 - Using style pane is close to useless since when I move the mouse
over the styles the pop-up description balloon usually obscures three or four
other styles, making it a game of mouse-quick-off, mouse-quick-on to pick one
of the styles hidden by the popup.

Please tell me there's a way to turn off this annoying feature?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, but that has no effect. Still get the (big) hover
descriptions blocking other style names.

Changing the screentips style on Word Options | Popular has no effect either.

This has been a "sort of" problem for a while in Word. I can't remember what
I did in W2003 to avoid it other than to approach the list from the right.
But in W2007, as I usually work in a Window, I move the cursor along the
style symbols. If there's enough room to the right, then when most style
descriptions display, the left side is in line with the symbol and it extends
beyond the window to the right.

If there's not enough room to the right or if I'm working full screen, I
move the cursor along the scroll bar area until I reach the style I want. If
I nip in too far and the display comes up, a quick move back to the right and
its gone.

HTH,
Pam
