Unable to establish a secure connection to exchange server (11)

Hi,

I keep getting this error "Unable to establish a secure connection to exchange server (11) If you continue, the information you view and send will be encrypted, but not secure" when I start Entourage 2008. Entourage doesn't show as connected until I select the "Ok" button.

If I un-check the "This DAV Service requires a secure connection (SSL)" in the Exchange account settings, that error doesn't pop up. However, I'm not connected to the exchange server.

I've tried finding a definitive answer as to what setting I have incorrect and where, but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Is there someone who can help out?

Anatoli

I keep getting this error "Unable to establish a secure connection to
exchange server (11) If you continue, the information you view and
send will be encrypted, but not secure" when I start Entourage 2008.
Entourage doesn't show as connected until I select the "Ok" button.

If I un-check the "This DAV Service requires a secure connection
(SSL)" in the Exchange account settings, that error doesn't pop up.
However, I'm not connected to the exchange server.

I've tried finding a definitive answer as to what setting I have
incorrect and where, but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Are you using a front-end Outlook Web Access (OWA) address for your
Exchange server address or a back-end (direct to the Exchange server
hosting your account) address?

Are you connecting to Exchange Server 2003 or 2007?

What happens if you plug the same address into Safari to connect to your
account? For example, if your back-end server address is
"server.example.com" then try:

http://server.example.com/exchange

Do you receive any sort of certificate error message?

Hi Bill,

I'm using the back-end server address. I'm attempting to connect to Exchange 2007.

I cannot connect to my back-end server address without using SSL. Thus, I have to use <https://server.example.com/exchange>.

No certificate server error pop-up, as I've imported a root CA certificate.

I'm using the back-end server address. I'm attempting to connect to
Exchange 2007.

I cannot connect to my back-end server address without using SSL.
Thus, I have to use <https://server.example.com/exchange>.

No certificate server error pop-up, as I've imported a root CA
certificate.

Have you tried this format?

server.example.com/exchange/[email protected]

Use your own E-mail address for "(e-mail address removed)"

You don't need to prefix the address with "https://" because the SSL
checkbox takes care of this.

Hope this helps!
