Unable to open an excel document...?

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I created an excel document on my desktop computer (the one mentioned) about 2 months ago which I haven't opened since. When wanting to open that document to edit some information a window comes up saying "Excel cannot open this file: The file might have been damaged or modified from its original format." The only thing is that I haven't even opened the file since I first created it! What can I do? I really need to make some changes to it for a work project!

If you do not have a backup, there is not much you can do. Even though you
have not opened the document since it was created, it might have been saved
incorrectly originally, some other errant program may have corrupted the
file, or the disk drive itself may have generated a problem at that file.

Hi Rebecca,

There 2 things you may want to try:
1) Make sure XL is up-to-date (12.2.3 as of today)
2) Try open the file with WinXL and resave it. If you don't have WinXL, I can help ([email protected])

Thanks,
XinXin
