Unbound control on continuous form goes blank

I have an unbound text box on a continuous subform (fsub2) with this control source:

=Forms!frmMain!fsub1.Form!CarManufacturerName & " Models:"

It works when fsub2 has records, but when it has no records the text box is blank/not shown (even though there is a CarManufacturerName listed in fsub1.)

How can I edit the control source so it shows all the time?

I meant to add that the control is in the form header of fsub2, not the detail section.

IIRC, a subform with no data and new records are not allowed
will display absolutely nothing. If you can allow new
records to be added, then there will be something to
display.
