Unhandled Exception error, and what is OneNote Journal?

Jonathan

I use ON2007RTM on two computers. On my tablet there is a task tray icon that
displays "OneNote Journal" in the ToolTip on mouseover. When I clicked that
today I got the following error message:
In the header of the error: "Microsoft.NET Framework
Body of the error: An unhandled exception has occurred in your application
If you click Continue ... (etc.) Exception from 0x80041003. Googling the
error I see that it is a somewhat generic "access denied" error.

What is this?

After a Google search for the name in the ToolTip I see one reference to the
old powertoy created for ON2003 "Journal" which I did use (on a different
computer) when I had ON2003. But ON2003 has never been installed on the
tablet that has that icon in the task tray. There is nothing like it in the
task tray on this desktop...)

What gives?

I think that's a third party utility. If the tooltip really says exactly
"OneNote Journal" then it's not an official MS product. It can be safely
uninstalled.

Erik and Erik,
Thanks, yes, I knew it wasn't MS code/product. I just didn't remember
installing it on this machine. I tried the 2003 iteration, I know that, but
on a different laptop. I did read that it got updated and has the very
specific path "in" to the pages. I will look at Add/Remove and see if it is
there.

Thanks for the reply.
