Unknown Document Property Name

Hello,

I have a word doc that I saved originally 2 weeks ago and have been editing
since then (and saving over the existing file each time). The file today has
suddenly reverted back to the original document that I saved 2 weeks ago and
all my edits are gone.

I am baffled as to why this happened, but I do see a footer saying: Error!
Unknown Document Property Name

When I press ctrl f9 it says: docproperty footerpath \* mergeformat

does anyone know how to fix this issue and hopefully how to get my last
edited document?
