Unprotect a protected worksheet

T

Teri

Does anyone know how I can unprotect a protected worksheet received from a
third party. I have been given the password to unprotect the worksheet and
am trying to "Save As" a new file so that I can use the existing formatting
to create a new spreadsheet.

However, when I try to open the newly created/saved workbook I am prompted
for the password again.

Thanks very much.

What are you unprotecting?

A worksheet or a workbook?

Assuming a workbook which you opened using a "password to open" password.

When you Save As with a new name, hit Tools>General Options and clear the
Password to Open from the dialog there.
