upgrade student 2003 to student 2007

Hi, I'm a total newbie at this... here goes...
My wife has office student & teacher edition 2003 on her computer running xp
and I'd like to upgrade it to office home and student 2007 using a service
desk edition i got when I bought my new computer.
But when i put in the disc it refuses to upgrade.
Should we uninstall 2003 and then try again and what will happen to her
existing files in 2003 ?

If it was supplied with your new PC it might be locked to that new PC

What is the exact msg when you run it on the other PC?

BTW H&S 2007 does not contain Outlook.
