URL links open Firefox *minimized* on XP taskbar

I'm running Firefox 3.0.3 on XP with Office and Outlook 2003. Everything is
fully up to date. Firefox is set as the default browser.

For a few weeks now, whenever clicking on a url link in Outlook 2003,
instead of opening a new instance of the FF browser, as it used to do, the FF
browser is opened minimized, as a button on the XP taskbar - which requires
clicking on the button to open the browser window.

This problem does not happen if IE 6.0 is changed to be the default browser.
And I believe it may not happen when no instance of Firefox is already open -
meaning, when Firefox is not already on.

Any clues on how to set the system to open the browser correctly (fully)
when a url link is clicked-on in Outlook?

THANKS!

What happens when you click a link from another application?
Your description assumes a Firefox issue.

Great point: when clicking on a link from within a MS Word document, the
same happens: Firefox opens minimized.

When clicking on a link within a yahoo email, browsed in Firefox, the page
opens properly (in a new instance of FF, per current FF user settings). When
clicking on the same yahoo email, browsed in IE 6.0, the page opens properly.

When IE 6.0 is set as the default browser, links in Outlook mail open the IE
6.0 page normally.

This suggests that the problem is either in FF or in XP settings for FF, no?

Thanks!
