Using a product key for an OEM version

My computer was pre-loaded with Microsoft office trial version. I never
really needed it so I let it expire. Then I downloaded it again off the
microsoft site and it erased my original version. I recently purchased and
OEM license and product key. The downloaded version will not accept the
product key. What can I do? I have paid over $200 to use Microsoft Office
and I can't get it to work. Any suggestions to make this product key work.
It is legitimate and paid for.

I ordered office small business 2007 from VioSoftware in Colorado. It said
it came with a disc and product license. The disc is microsoft value DVD. It
just points to the free downloads.

I'd suggest you start with the vendor. I suspect the issue is because the
download is a retail version, not OEM.

Your OEM Office product key will only work with an OEM Office CD.
Contact the vendor and demand the correct CD. Or demand a refund!

The trial editions pre-loaded on computers is normally the Home and Student
version, not Small Business edition. WAs your trial H&S or SBE? You cannot
use a key for one to activate the other.
