Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Hi. I am a new user to Word 2008 (was familiar how to add a signature in Word 2007 on a PC). Can anyone help with auto text tips or provide simple to follow steps to add a saved signature file in the signature area of a letter, etc?
Thanks!

Hi,

Use AutoCorrect.

1. In Word, format the signature exactly the way you want.
2. Select the text and other objects that are part of your signature.
3. From the Tools menu choose AutoCorrect
4. Make sure that you are on the AutoCorrect tab and that all the
options are checked (on)
5. In the Replace as you Type section, in the input field under Replace,
type a string to activate your signature, such as:
*sign
6. Click OK to close the AutoCorrect dialog box

Quit Word.

From now on, whenever you want your signature to appear, type the
string you put into the Replace box. In this example, whenever you type
*sig as soon as you press the space bar after you type the string of
text your signature will appear instantly.

Well, the process is exactly the same in all versions _except_ 2007 :)

Select the graphic in an existing document,
Go to Insert> AutoText> New,
Type a name for the item,
Click OK

The problem is that graphic object AutoText doesn't provide the AutoComplete
Tip. To insert it, type its name then key Option+Command+V

Alternatively you can add it to AutoCorrect in much the same way:

Select the graphic,
Go to Tools> AutoCorrect,
Type the 'trigger' such as mn (as in "my name",
Click OK

The advantages are that the 'trigger' need not be 4 characters & to insert
it you need only type the trigger then press return.

Another option is to add the graphic to the Scrapbook so you can just drag
it into any Office file, not just Word documents.
