Using Avery products with Publisher documents

The Avery product (8876) & template #s (5371 or 8371) I'm using for business
cards/label are not listed as options in Publisher (2003) page setup. What
can I do?

I really need to create a list of Avery products that have the same
dimensions. Avery changes the numbers based on quantity, color, ink versus
laser, or finish. When designing your document, these things don't matter.

The same template is used for Avery products 27871, 27881, 27882, 28371,
28876, 28877, 5371, 5376, 5377, 5876, 5911, 8371, 8374, 8376, 8377, 8471,
8476, 8871, 8872, 8873, 8876, 8877, 8878.

OK. I chose 8871 and if I print multiple business cards on 81/2x11 sheet of
paper, they come out fine. When I print them on the actual Avery sheet, the
first line of cards begins printing about 1/4 inch into the margin of the
sheet (above the perforated/clean edge of the paper). I even tried copying
my good 81/2x11 sheet onto the Avery sheet - but the same thing happened.
I'm so frustrated. And I've wasted so many bus. card sheets. Thanks for any
help!

Have you reconfigured your printer for the different paper weight? Some
printers have this configured in the printer driver, others (older ones
generally) have switches somewhere on the paper feed to allow selection of
this. If not, then your printer will not feed the paper correctly,
resulting in issues like those you describe.

Did you make sure that you bought card stock that is the correct type for
your printer? Laser card stock is different paper from the ink jet stock.
This can cause a problem with feeding also.

The stock is for inkjet. I will try Ed Bennet's suggestion for checking the
printer driver for the correct type of paper and see if that works. thanks
to all of you for your suggestions! I'll let you know how it all turns out!

Good luck. (And instead of constantly wasting card stock, which isn't cheap,
reuse the ones that are messed up. Find a way to mark the bad print and use
it again. I hate wasting stock myself. But you still end up wasting ink -
argh!)
