Using the FIND feature

I am trying to use the "Find" feature to locate an asterisk that may be located in various cells. There are many cells but only one asterisk in each. For some reason, FIND does not acknowledge the asterisk. Anybody have a solution? Thanks in advance.

The asterisk is used as both a math operator and a wildcard character, so if
searching for one by only entering that character you're actually telling
the feature to find any cells that have content. In order to search for the
asterisk character itself you need to precede it by a tilde (~) in order to
identify it as a literal, so your "Find what" entry wound be: ~*
