Vista + Word 2007 - Mouse buttons do not function. Scroll wheel d

My mouse works with every other program (excel etc.) but not with Word 2007.

Originally, a wireless keyboard and mouse were used. I changed to wired
keyboard and mouse some time ago. The wireless USB device was unplugged.

In Word only, the scroll wheel works OK, but the right and left clicks do
nothing. I must use arrow keys to do the work.

Help!
