Want to use previous *.ost file

Hi there.

Vista Ultimate & Office 2007.

I had to format my HDD because of some error I could not resolve on another
manner.

My OL is setup to link with the exchange at work; only profile.

I have just installed OL again. I want to use my original *.ost file which
is about 900Mb. How can I forse the fresh installation to use this copy? It
does not want to use this copy and has created Outlook0.ost and has
starting to download from the exchange. This is going to take an hour or so
and also 900Meg of my bandwidth.

How can I just use my beackup-copy?

Deon

You can't. OST's are keyed to the profile you used to create them.
Even if you recreate the profile exactly, it's not the same profile.

OSTs are not meant to be a 'backup copy' of anything.
They are there to save you should your connection to the Exchange
server go down. It isn't a permanent storage solution.
