Why can't I get a vertical scroll bar on my Word documents?

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I'm a brand new Mac user who just installed Office 2008. I'm having a very hard time getting comfortable with working on documents in Word. I can't get a document to fill the full screen, as it did on my PC. More frustrating is the fact that I can't get a vertical scroll bar to appear, making it extremely hard to move around in the document.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Window sizing is handled differently by Mac OS than it is in Windows OS but
you'll adjust OK. See Mac Help on the subject as well as Help in the various
programs. Also check out Expose - an OS X feature.


As for the Scroll Bar, go to Word> Preferences - View & tick the checkbox.
Preferences on a Mac are the equivalent of Options on a Windows box. You may
also find the following article useful:
