Word 2007 forms with several option button ActiveX long time to lo

Good day all,

I would appreciate your help on this matter.

I have different Word 2007 forms with several option buttons. For what I'm
seeing, this can only be ActiveX however at the moment there is no need for
code behind it but simply need the multiple option functionality of the
control.
The problem is the forms takes a long time to load (approx 1min 20 secs) and
can't afford that waste of time every time.
The system Office is running on is quite high end, this is a Workstation
with 4GB RAM, dual CPUs (physical) with dual core each, SATA, high end Video
card so this shouldn't be happening. Also other people with different systems
are also experiencing the extensive load times.

Question:
Is there anything that can be done to speed up the process? Why is this
happening?

I was thinking moving to Adobe Acrobat and re-create the forms there but
there are quite a few so if there is a fix or an alternative then it would be
better to stay with Word.

Thank you all in advance.

Michael.

I had the same problem with microsoft being uber slow with forms. I ended up
just transferring them to Adobe with the *publish design* option, then using
LiveCycle to automatically recreate the forms. However, from what I could
determine, livecycle does not give the option to bump text down when text
overflows the allowed area.
