Word 2007 Hyperlink Won't Format

I would like to set the formatting options for all hyperlinks in my
document. I've gone into the Hyperlink style and set the font to red
but none of the 50 hyperlinks in my document change.

I'm using Word 2007 and these links are links to internal headings
within the same document. I created them by going to Home > Insert >
CrossReference and then chose a Reference Type of Numbered Item.

Is this different from previous versions of Word, are these internal
references not governed by the Hyperlink style?

TIA

Hi Mark,

While the {REF..} field (Alt +F9 to toggle between display and field content) has the \h switch to have the REF work as an internal
Hyperlink it doesn't use the Hyperlink field/style for formatting. If you use Shift+F1 to bring up the Reveal formatting pane it
doesn't show the Hyperlink style being applied. You can apply a character style to the Xref, including the Hyperlink style.

Hyperlinks to Headings or bookmarks created through Insert=>Hyperlink will use the {Hyperlink...} field and the Hyperlink style.
