Word 97 print problem

Word 97 (in Office 97, Profession Edition) when I try to print using Ctrl-P.
It prints without a problem when I click the Print icon on the toolbar. Every
other program (Office 97, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.) prints without a
problem, whether I click the Print icon or launch the process with Ctrl-P. I
tried upgrading to Word 2003 (in Office 97) and printed without a problem,
but reverting to Word 97 (I uninstalled each program and cleaned the Registry
before upgrading/downgrading) put me right back where I was, i.e., Word 97
still crashes. Likewise, when I tried to print using Ctrl-P in Wordview 97,
that one crashed, too. I upgraded that program to Wordview 2003 and now print
either way with no problem.

The error message I see when Word 97 crashes is:

"Microsoft Word for Windows 97 Application File"

"Microsoft Word for Windows 97 application file has encountered a problem
and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience."

When I click for information, I see:

"Error Signature:
AppName: winword.exe
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180
AppVer: 8.0.0.9315
ModNam: ntdll.dll
Offset: 00010612"

The Dr. Watson error file is labeled: 6b24_appcompat.txt.

My system:
Computer: Dell Dimension 4300
CPU: Intel P4 2.6GHz
Ram: 1G
OS: XP Pro v.2002 with SP2 and all critical updates
App: Word 97 v.8.0b with SP2 and all critical updates
Printer: H-P F380 All-In-One
