Word Bibliography and Citations

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel have two issues. 1. I have created many citations for the bibliography for three different project. If I close a document and reopen it, the Master List appears but the Current List is gone. I have to recopy all of my citations. It's very frustrating.

2. When I go to insert the Bibliography, I go to insert Document Elements but all the choices are grayed out and I cannot insert it. I did this before so I know it is installed.

Sorry Guys:

I saw the question, but I didn't answer because I did not quite understand
it.

Can you give me a step-by-step on what you are doing?

Cheers

Hi John

Thanks for your reply, nice to hear from someone in Sydney!

I entered all reference information into the citations source manager. I then copied them to the citations list for the article I am working on. Unfortunately, when I try to use this information to insert a bibliography (Insert > document elements) the options are all grey (disabled). Do you have any ideas why the bibliography function is not working, and what I need to do to fix it?

Thanks
Sandra

Not only that but when I close the document and reopen it, all the citations are gone for the document. I have to recopy every one from the Master List to make the bibliography. I'm working on a book and this is a huge ordeal.

I'm waiting for Corentin or Michel to happen along... They are both
researching academics who write a LOT of citations :)

I do not know the answer :)

Yeah, but I use EndNote for that.
I tried playing around with the built-in Bibliography support and it
was far, far, far from what I really needed. I really tried though!
I find the bibliography manager unpractical for dealing with more than
a dozen references (and even then, it's a pain).

Not sure therefore what’s happening here. In my past experience, I
never had anything greyed out.
