I just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro and performed a migration from my old MacBook Pro to the new one. Now when I try to save Word files to the firewire drive I get a message telling me to free up memory or the drive is write protected or full. I have 4 gigs of RAM, and the drive has all kinds of space. Excel saves just fine so it seems to be a Word issue. I did a repair permissions, etc. Word save to USB Thumb disks and the hard drive just fine.

Any ideas??

Turns out after some investigation that the folders on the drive (that I was trying to save to) somehow got switched to Write protect. Once I changed that, I was able to save. What clued me was when I tried to save to another part of the drive and I was able to. I am not sure how the folders got changed.
