wrapping text around another text box

My problem is this...I have two text boxes. I want to wrap one text box
around the other text box but nothing seems to be working. What I want to do
with the one to the left is make it into an "L" shape so that the box on the
right simply fits in the empty space of the "L" to form basically a square.
I have tried turning on all those text wrapping features with both boxes and
cannot figure out for the life of me what is happening. I have a box drawn
around the box on the right...don't know if that has something to do with it.
I have tried removing it and still can't get this to work. HELP!!!!

Hi, Kelly -

Maybe try this experiment:

Open a NEW document in Publisher.
Make sure that "Snap to objects" is turned ON.
Pull a text box, fill it blue.
Pull a second, smaller, text box and fill it yellow.
Move the yellow text box so that it snaps into the upper right corner of the
blue box.

You should have a square shape with with a smaller yellow square and a blue
"L" shape. (If the yellow is not in the front, bring it forward.)

Now paste a block of text into the yellow box.
Paste a block of text into the blue box.

Did the defaults of a NEW document work?

I cannot duplicate this in any version of Publisher, if I create a text box, fill it
with text, create a second text box, the first box wraps automatically. There maybe
an object somewhere in the document that is interfering.

Yup!

And Mary's point about an object that might be causing the interference is a
good one. That's when I use "select all" --- and see what stuff might be
hiding (and throwing everything else off.)

I think the combination of both of your responses helped me resolve the issue
along with changing the layout to Exact and Through. Thanks so much! :)
