write querydef that points to odbc datasource

sorry for the double post, but i tried this in the SQL group and got no
replies...

- using access2007
- i have external data which i need in reports.
- i have successfully used VBA code to set a connectionstring and execute a
query.
* i would like to manually create a query inside the access-database as a
querydef so i can launch a report.
problem is: i cant figure how to build a query on data that isnt alreay
linked to the access database.

Sounds like you need a pass-through query. Here's a link that might help ...
