Windows installer popups asking for patch package for XP office s.

I recently had a few problem with Window updates. Now that I have XP up and
running again my office XP Standard will not install and I keep getting a
"Windowinstaller" popup whenever I click on anything to open it. It is asking
for a patch package. What is this and how do I access it?

Chris: thanks for trying to help but I managed to figure it out. I finally
downloaded the Windows install cleanup utility. Removed the old OfficeXP and
reinstalled it. Works great.
thanks for your time.
BTW I did not recieve any error message. Just the POP UP of windows
installer asking for the "patch Package"
